Patricia Ann “Pat” Stobbs passed away on Saturday March 14, 2026 in Burlington. She was born in Harvey, Illinois, the daughter of the late Edward and Alice (Burgeson) Stobbs. She grew up in Markham, Illinois, and moved to Burlington in 1971.
Pat has earned her wings to make the short and promising trip to her new home in Heaven. She will be remembered as a kind, precious, caring person with an infectious smile and didn’t have a mean bone in her body. She instantly touched the hearts of everyone she met. She found ways to work through her disabilities and was a vital part of family and friends. She enjoyed watching movies, taking care of her tropical fish, Christmas and collecting figurines. Christmas was an every day event for her. She was employed by NEL in Burlington for 36 years.
Pat was preceded in death by her grandparents David Burgeson (Hulda Samuelson) and Leroy Stobbs (Grace Gaukrodger); mother Alice Stobbs in 1999; father Edward Stobbs in 2004; brother Thomas Stobbs in 2000 and brother-in-laws Art Duncan in 2001 and Jack Ippel in 2017.
Pat is survived by her sisters Karen Ippel of Fridley, Minnesota, and Judith (Glen) Duncan-Nondorf of Lowell, Indiana; brother David Stobbs of Burlington; nephews Micheal Ippel (Juliette Gorell), Jonathan Stobbs, Brandan Stobbs (Kiera Glatch), Benjamin Stobbs and Michael Duncan; nieces Kim (Charles) Bronson, Christina (Chris) Jostes, Lynnette (Brad) Barker, Traci (Mando) Blanco, and Kelly (Michael) Trent; and many cousins and great nieces and nephews.
A private family funeral will be held at a later date.
