Daniel “Dan” W. Norem, 68, of Elkhorn, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Dan was born on Aug. 15, 1957, in Burlington, the son of William and Lorraine (Nielsen) Norem. He was united in marriage to his wife, Jo (nee Middleton) Norem on Oct. 22, 1977, in Burlington. They were married for almost 49 loving years. Dan graduated from Burlington High School in 1975. He worked for his dad’s company, Westenn Mechanical Contractors where he estimated bids for heating and air conditioning. He eventually retired from Westenn.
During his free time, Dan enjoyed fishing, camping, watching and playing sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and Brewers. He loved rafting trips with family and friends, music and going to concerts. He loved campfires, playing cribbage, and socializing. He had a lot of friends who he loved to spend time with. What he loved most was spending time with his family. He was always there for his kids and grandkids and loved to watch his granddaughters’ soft ball games. He was a family man. He will be deeply missed.
Dan is survived by his wife, Jo Norem; parents, William and Lorraine Norem; children, Sara Branfort, Rebecca (Derek) Wegner and Noah Norem; sister, Nancy (Dan) Sandoval; grandchildren, Ashtyn, Braden, Camden, Blake and Chloe, and beloved aunts and uncles.
Dan is preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Forrest and Evelyn Middleton, and brothers-in-law, Dale and David Middleton.
A celebration of life will take place at Pike and Spikes Tavern, W5296 County Rd A, in Elkhorn, on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at 2 p.m.
