Jane Ann Tuinstra, 88, passed away Oct. 27, 2026, at Timber Oaks Assisted Living. She graduated from Rochester Agriculture School. As a young woman she worked at Western Publishing Company and, seasonally, at the Mink Farm. She worked for many of her later years as an apartment manager. Jane was married to the late Robert Tuinstra for 25 years and together they raised four children.

Jane had many talents but her most coveted skill was baking. She made the most deliciously mounded plates of cookies during the holiday season. Her family fondly remembers her divinity candy which could only perfectly be made once the temperature dropped below zero. She always enjoyed decorating for all the holidays. Being with friends and family was her favorite way to spend time. Jane always loved animals and had cats and dogs in her home while the children grew up. A past Packer fan, she had recently begun to enjoy golf and followed the sport closely.

Jane is survived by her children, Debra (Rick) Ross, Michael Tuinstra, Donald (Mary Grace) Tuinstra and William (Stacy) Tuinstra; grandchildren, Kendia (Mike) Lovett, Craig (Shanna) Behrens, Rob (Ashley) Ross, Tracey Tuinstra, Amanda Tuinstra, Nick (Krista) Tuinstra, Matt (Amanda) Tuinstra, Christian (Maya) Tuinstra, and Alex Tuinstra; and great-grandchildren:  Amaya, Corbin, Emma, Austin, Riley, Kylie, Silas, Rowan, David, Sammy, Sterling, Scotland, Rhodes, and one on the way! She also leaves behind her two loving friends, Diane and Gloria, who took special care of her in her final days.

Jane was preceded in death by her beloved mother-in-law, Lorraine Tuinstra; daughter-in-law, Donna Tuinstra; and siblings, John (Lorraine) Mutter and Jim (Bev) Mutter.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Oak Ridge, Timber Oaks, and Aurora Medical.

Jane will be buried with her parents at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery in Dover on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. The family will hold a Celebration of Life following the ceremony at a location yet to be determined.

The family is being assisted by Miller-Reesman Funeral Home of Union Grove. Online condolences may be left at www.Miller-Reesman.com.
