Robert “Bob” Charles Grunewald, 79, of East Troy, passed away in his home on April 21, 2026.
Bob was born in Burlington to Willis and Carole Grunewald on Oct. 23, 1946. He graduated from East Troy High School in 1965. While in school, Bob enjoyed sports and participated in football, basketball and wrestling.
During High School, Bob worked with his dad at the Ford Garage in East Troy. He was well known as a great mechanic! Bob’s high school yearbook has a quote stating, “The car has stopped, no need to panic; Bob is a mechanic.”
Following working at Ford Garage, Bob worked for Diamond Trucking as a mechanic for many years. In his later years, he continued to take on independent mechanic projects.
Bob had many interests outside of work. He enjoyed racing motorcycles, photography, Ham radio and flying model airplanes.
Bob is survived by his sisters Becky Bach of Gardnerville, Nevada, and Connie (Dale) Pellmann of Eagle River; nephew Brad Schmaling, niece Christine (Chris) Mauerman and many friends.
Bob’s family who preceded him in death include his parents Willis and Carole Grunewald, and his sister Barb Schmaling.
