Mitchell J. Daniels, 62, of Burlington, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Aurora Zilber family Hospice in Wauwatosa.
He was born Dec. 28, 1963, in Burlington, son of the late Richard and Doris (Vos) Daniels. Mitch was a lifelong resident of Burlington and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School.
Mitch worked for many years at Schuette-Daniels Furniture Store. He was most recently employed at Kunes and continued working at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. He was a member of St. Charles Church.
In his younger years, he volunteered with the Burlington Rescue Squad and was a member of the Burlington Kiwanis Club.
Mitch enjoyed spending time with the guys at deer camp, helping harvest and render maple syrup with the River Bottom Sap Company, traveling to different locations to listen to local bands and looked forward to spending time with his family during their yearly trip to Lakewoods.
Survivors include his children, Austin (Taryn) Daniels of Kimberly and Abbey (Fiancé Matt Krueger) Daniels of Kaukauna; grandchildren, Aspen and Noah Daniels; siblings, Michael Daniels, Mark (Debbie) Daniels, Matthew (Donna) Daniels, Marian (Craig) Hancock, Marlene Daniels, Madalyn (Emmett) Long, Marilee (Phil) Moran, Greg (Kathy) Pieters, Marvin (Kathleen) Daniels, Marcel (Shelly) Daniels, Marti (Dawn) Daniels, and Monte (Michaela) Daniels; brother-in-law, Jim Weiss; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
In addition to his parents, Mitch was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Weiss, and nephews, Paul Weiss and Benjamin Ketterhagen.
Mitch’s children would like to express a special thank you to all the family and friends for their support and prayers during this difficult time. As well as a special thank you to the staff at Zilber Family Hospice for giving such great and compassionate care to him during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to St. Charles Parish in Mitch’s name.
A Celebration of Life for Mitch will be held at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026 from 1 until 4 p.m.
