Michael H. Sherin, 96, of Delavan, passed away on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026 at his home. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on May 27, 1930, the son of Michael and Verlie (Hoosier) Sherin.
Michael was united in marriage on Aug. 5, 1977 to Diane Deeke and they spent the next 49 years happily building a life together. He was a business owner for many years in warehouse distribution, medical products and plastic blowmolding. He was a private pilot who loved to sail too. He was a Past Commodore of the Lake Geneva Yacht Club and a past President of the Geneva Lake Sailing School.
Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be missed by all who knew who him.
Michael is survived by his wife, Diane Sherin of Delavan; his children, Deborah (Tim) Fische of Genoa City, Tom (LindaVoll) Sherin of Fontana, Jim (Laura) Sherin of Lake Geneva, and Mark (Carol Foreman) Sherin of Lake Geneva; step-children, Jim (Diane Bruce) Niemeyer, Elerton, Florida, Tammy (Tom) Lopez of Mesa, Arizona, and Jill (Dave) Horn of Huntley, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Sarah Murphy, Jamie Niemeyer, Danny Niemeyer, Charles Fischer, Aaron Garcelon, Kevin Lopez, Dalton Garcelon, Ashley Horn, Morgan Aune, Justin Horn, Keegan Garcelon, and Taylor Horn many of whom blessed him with 15 adorable great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen (John) Gura of Redlands, California.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Verlie Sherin; and his grandson, Paul Lopez.
