Sandra Jean Schulze Sellnow was born Oct. 12, 1950, in Port Washington and passed away on Aug. 19, 2026, in Guntersville, Alabama, at the age of 75 after a brief illness.

Sandra was the daughter of Howard and Jane Schulze and the oldest of five children. She graduated from Port Washington High School in 1969 and attended the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. She married Bill Sellnow on Oct. 16, 1971 and they lived in Whitewater. She was a homemaker to her son and twin daughters. In August of 1984 her family moved to Guntersville to start Dixie Grinders, Inc.  After moving to Alabama, she worked as a substitute teacher, shift manager at Pizza Hut, and at Dixie Grinders.  She was always supportive of the family business and helped grow the business to what it is today.  She was a caregiver for her mother-in-law and for an extended period of time, her late brother-in-law Phillip Sellnow.

Sandra was always involved in her church by being in the choir and volunteering with numerous children’s ministries. She was an active member of Friedens Evangelical Church in Port Washington, First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater, and Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville, Alabama.

She was a Brownie leader when her daughters were young. She was a reading buddy at Guntersville Elementary School when her grandchildren were students there. She was a fan of classic TV shows, the Green Bay Packers and Guntersville Wildcat Football.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Jane Schulze, and sister Nola Heinowski.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Sellnow; children, Matt (Amanda) Sellnow, Rachel (Frank) Johnson, and Sarah (Dave) Rottersman; grandchildren, Caroline (Phillip) Sellnow Pearce, Johnson (Madie) Sellnow, Luke Johnson, Ethan Johnson, and Lilianna Johnson; great-grandson Jay Pearce; siblings, Nancy (Bill) Bichler, Donald (Judy) Schulze, and Neil (Debbie) Schulze; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville, Alabama, on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at the Guntersville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Johnson Sellnow, Luke Johnson and Ethan Johnson; sons-in-law Frank Johnson and Dave Rottersman; and grandson-in-law Phillip Pearce. Honorary pallbearer is great-grandson Jay Pearce.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Stephen Henderson, Marshall Medical Center North, and Marshall Manor Nursing and Rehab Center for their support and care. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the Foundation for Marshall Medical Centers, Guntersville, Alabama.
