Lynn Albert Peterson, 85, of Waterford, passed away on Aug. 19, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born on June 2, 1941, in Burlington, Lynn was the son of Albert and Irene Peterson. He grew up with a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and the rhythms of farm life. Lynn farmed alongside his family until 1985, and during those years he was actively involved in several agricultural organizations. He served as president of the Racine County Farm Bureau for eight years and also held leadership roles with the Southeast Wisconsin Pork Producers, where his commitment to local agriculture and community leadership was widely respected.
In 1985, Lynn began a new chapter working for the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier in Burlington. He served his community with dedication and reliability until his retirement in January 2012.
Throughout his life, Lynn had a passion for photography — a pursuit he proudly named “P Photo Quest.” No matter where he was, he had a camera in his hand, always ready to capture the world around him. His photographs reflected his curiosity, patience, and the way he found beauty in everyday moments.
Lynn was an active member of English Settlement United Methodist Church, supporting all of its annual events and lending his time and energy wherever it was needed. He loved encouraging and supporting his family in each of their endeavors, and he generously assisted neighbors with all kinds of household tasks, always showing up when someone needed help.
Lynn was preceded in death by his father Albert Peterson, his mother Irene Peterson, his brother Rick Peterson, and his daughter‑in‑law Renee Peterson.
Lynn is survived by his wife of 65 years, Charlotte; his sisters Patricia (Dean) Paul and Margo (Gary) Jacob; his children Cindy Hupp, Jeff (Marilyn), and Michael (Leigh); grandchildren Mathew Burek, Abbee (Tim) Schmidt, Lindsee Hupp, Christee (Conner) Hendrickson, Jordon Jessy) Peterson, Kelsey (Scott) Davis, Paige (Ben) Fenske, and Katelynn (Kevin) Albrecht; and his great‑grandchildren Ethan, Emma, Casey, Lane, Raylynn, Trenton, Logon, Colton, Emmitt, Andrew, David, Ruth, Lucas, and Mirium.
A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, from 3 until 6 p.m. followed by a memorial service at Integrity Celebration Center, 2789 Browns Lake Dr., Burlington. Lynn will be laid to rest on the following day, Sept. 19, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Eagle Creek Religious Society Cemetery located behind English Settlement Church, 28215 Plank Rd., Burlington.
