James “Jimmy” Franecki, 72, of Waterford, found peace and entered heaven on July 27, 2026.

Jim was reunited in heaven with his loving and devoted wife, Cindy Franko-Franecki. He was the proud father of Eric (Cathy) Franecki and Kenny (Ashley) Heiser; cherished grandpa of Annalise and Alaina Franecki; and dear brother of Rosie (Ken) Edwards, Marilyn Franecki, Bill (Vickie) Franecki, and Tom (Georgia) Franecki. He is further survived by many caring family members and dear friends, including his brother-in-law, James “Jaws” Franko.

Jim was born in Milwaukee to John and Dolores (Nowicki) Franecki. He graduated from South Milwaukee High School and worked for Cooper Power Systems for 20 years before spending several years with Ace Hardware.

Jim enjoyed camping out West and at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park, barefoot skiing, tending to his lawn and garden, taking cruises to Alaska, grilling, and spending time with his family and friends.

The family extends a special thank you to Compassus Hospice and the team at Ascension Hospital for their loving care and compassion.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, Aug. 10, from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m., with a Memorial Mass beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 7963 S. 116th St., Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) in memory of Jim.
