Joseph Markus Westcott passed on April 14, 2026. His daughter Tracy was at his side devoted to his home hospice care, ensuring his journey was exactly what he wished it to be.
Joe was born in West Allis on Feb. 20, 1947, to his late parents, Maynard J. and Loretta M. Westcott. He spent his childhood in West Allis where he followed his educational path, competing in go-kart racing, achieving many trophies for his accomplishments, and graduated from Pulaski High School in Milwaukee.
After courting Sandra K. Westcott, she and Joe married and then adopted their son Joseph Michael Westcott. Joe was then drafted into the Vietnam War and served as a Combat Engineer, after which he returned home to his family, and adopted daughter Tracy Sue Le Houillier in 1974. Joe and Sandy raised their family in Big Bend. He was devoted to being an amazing husband, son and father. Sandy was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease in 1977. Throughout her journey, Joe was an amazing caregiver for her over the years up until her passing in February of 2000.
Through Joe’s first wife’s care he met his late wife, Nancy. They married in 2004 and relished life together cruising the back roads of southeast Wisconsin on their Harley while cherishing many vistas and sunsets, traveled the Caribbean, wandered Ireland and spent time out West. Back home, they enjoyed boat rides and swimming with their dogs and friends on Lake Beulah. Together, they tended to a vast collection of house plants, pets, beautiful summer flowers, and perennial beds.
Throughout the years he worked as a Machinist at Kay-Bee Machine, Milwest Machine, Regal, Tom and Sons Machine, Fortress Manufacturing, Johnson Controls, and Harley Davidson where he retired from. Joe was a member of the American Association of Retired People (AARP), Life member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Legion, and the Harley-Davidson Retiree Club.
In addition to his parents and beloved wives Sandra K. and Nancy H., Joe was preceded in death by his son Joseph Michael Westcott and daughter-in-law Jodi Webster.
Joe is survived by daughter Tracy S. Le Houillier (Westcott) and her husband Bret with grandkids Zoe, Gavin and Malcolm, and sons Chad with grandkids Alena and Mike, and Craig with granddaughters Amberlee and Alyssa Webster.
Our family wishes gratitude and offers thanks to all of those who sent thoughts, prayers, food and understanding during his hospice care and for sharing compassion and a hearty laugh with him over his last weeks including Tracy and Bret with children Zoe, Gavin and Malcolm; Craig and Chris with children Amber Lee and Alyssa; neighbors Missy and Kurt, and The Strands; Tracy’s co-workers; and more.
Come celebrate Joe’s life with us on Saturday, July 18, at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, 930 Main Street, Mukwonago. Visitation is at 10 a.m. with a short memorial service at Noon. Military Honors will follow.
