Graham “Gus” G. Olson, 91, of Elkhorn, died peacefully at home on July 7, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Gus was born in Chicago on May 26, 1935, the son of the late Graham and Edna (Moshier) Olson. He met Phyllis M. Greiner while attending Lawrence University. They were married on Sept. 7, 1957, in Appleton. In 1967, they moved to the Elkhorn area, where they raised their family and built a lifetime of cherished memories together.
In his younger years, Gus served in the United States Air Force as a Captain from 1958 to 1962. He then enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a pilot for TWA, retiring in 1995 after 31 years. Gus loved working his farm and raising animals. His four great passions in life were Family, Flying, Farming, and Boating. Above all, he prioritized time with his family, whether gathering in Door County or creating everyday meaningful moments.
Gus is survived by his wife of nearly 69 years, Phyllis; his children, Michael (Tammy) Olson, Jeffrey (Susan) Olson, Lars Olson, and Christopher Olson; his brother, John (Sue) Olson; his sister-in-law, Linda Olson; his grandchildren, Ryan Olson, Ross Olson (Cassie Nelson), Tyler (Marie) Olson, Emma (Jake) Sawyers, Carter (Caroline) Olson, Claire Olson, Lucius Olson, and Shay Olson; and his great-grandchildren, Maeve and Henry. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Olson.
Gus’s family will honor his life with a private gathering at a later date.
