Rose Ellen Wilfert, 62, of Chicago, passed away unexpectedly from heart failure on May 11, 2026. She was born on June 20, 1963 to Richard and Delores (Schranz) Wilfert and grew up in the rural area of New Munster.

With a very artistic mind, she designed and sold many clothing pieces in her business Rose’s Artistic Designs. She also sold many of her designer jean jackets at the Geneva Inn and was also employed at the Boardroom in Lake Geneva for many years. For several years she was an owner and operator along with her former husband, Richard Elverman, in their business Prestige Limo and Chauffeur.

Rose was a free spirit and helpful and kind to those she met in life. Some would call her “sugar and spice”. She always had a love for the “big city” and in 2017 she made that dream a reality when she moved to Chicago where she lived until her passing.

Rose was preceded in death by her father, Richard Wilfert and by her step-father, Robert R. Spitzer.

Rose is survived by her son, Bradley Elverman and her grandson, Scott Elverman. She is also survived by her mother Delores Spitzer, two brothers Paul Wilfert and Mark (Amy) Wilfert, her sister Anne (Walter) Mueller, two maternal aunts, Joann Hewitt and Linda Recknagel, nephews and nieces, many cousins and friends, and her good friend Holly Anton.

Visitation will take place Saturday, June 20 from 1 until 4 p.m. with a prayer service at 3 p.m. at Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s memory can be made to Love, Inc. 480 S. Pine St., Burlington, Wisconsin.
