Patrica R. Hawes, 90, of Eagle, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at ProHealth Mukwonago Hospital.

Pat was born on Nov. 13, 1935 at her family’s home in Eagle, the same home that her son and daughter-in-law live in today. As the third daughter of Forest and Alida (Riesen) Reed, she grew up in the Eagle community and graduated from Palmyra High School in 1953. Pat married the love of her life, Robert W. Hawes on Oct. 8, 1955. Together they lovingly raised three children, Jeffrey, Lori, and Kathryn.

Pat was a lifelong and committed member of the Eagle United Methodist Church, serving her community and church through love and dedication, in so many different capacities. As a lifelong singer, she was a staple of the church choir and dedicated Sweet Adeline for 60 years. Pat worked as the Postmaster for the Eagle Post Office for nearly 40 years, retiring in 1999. She will be remembered for her friendly and giving personality, her kindness toward others, and her delicious baked goods. Pat loved her community and demonstrated it through service to the local historical society board, cemetery board, and many other local boards and committees. She was generous with her time, gifts and talents. Pat was an avid cross-stitcher, blessing her family with gifts marking births, marriages and housewarmings, creating heirlooms that will be cherished forever. In earlier years, Pat loved camping and the feel of the open road while holding tight to her husband while on the back of their beloved motorcycle. Most of all, Pat was so proud of her family and loved spending time together. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those she leaves behind.

Pat is survived by her three children, Jeffrey (Elaine) Hawes of Eagle, Lori (Mitchell) Glawe of Wauwatosa, and Kathryn (Harley) Peterson of Mosinee; her six dear grandchildren, Daniel (Jess Burns) Hawes of Madison, Amy (Nick) Morateck of Greenfield, Benjamin (Christine) Glawe of Wauwatosa, Jonathan (AJ Sunder) Glawe of Minneapolis, Harley Peterson of Wausau, and Claire (Brandon) Bagwell of Kiel; her great-grandchildren, Rowan, Winslow, Forest, and Louise; and her brother in law, Donald (Alice) Hawes of Racine. She is further survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 65 years, Robert; her sisters, Elizabeth (the late Gordon) Stolp, and Dorothy (the late George) Clark; and her sister in law, Ethel (the late Keith) Schlitz.

Memorials in Pat’s honor may be made to the Eagle Historical Society.
