Joseph G. Schraeder, 76, of Whitewater and formerly of East Troy, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

He was born on Aug. 21, 1949, to the late Lawrence and Rita (nee Von Rueden) Schraeder in Whitewater. Joe graduated from East Troy High School and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with an Agricultural Engineering degree. He was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and Skydivers Club in college. Joe worked at International Harvester in Memphis and then later at Wisconsin Ovens in East Troy. He loved history, numbers, and dates. He enjoyed photography and traveling. Joe was able to visit all 50 states.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Those Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory include his four siblings, Dorothy Meisenheimer, Tom (Patricia “Trici”) Schraeder, Kathy (Patrick) Barry, and John (Donna) Schraeder; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Schraeder; his brother-in-law, Dave Meisenheimer; and his nephew, Jeremy Schraeder.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1225 W. Main St., Whitewater, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church are appreciated by the family.
