Donald L. August, 98, of Delavan, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026.

Don was a lifelong resident of Delavan. He graduated from Delavan High School, lettering in football and basketball. Following high school he joined the army, becoming a medic and serving in the Korean War.

Don married Dorothy (nee Waldo) in 1948. They built a life together centered on family. He worked at Borg Fabrics for decades as a purchasing agent. Don spent years as a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to family vacations at his cabin in northern Wisconsin, where countless cherished memories were made.

Don is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Terrie Oakey, Mary Wendt, and Jean Barry; his son, David (Sue) August; his grandchildren, Marcie (Joe) DeSomer, Roberta (Jamie) Meyer, Lindsay Fisher, Laura (Brady) Farrell, Ben (Chiper) Tennessen, Charity Farrell, Sariah (Aaron) Pluess, Jordan (Jaiden) August, Jessica (Joe) Jacobs, Cali (Joe) Draffkorn, and Ryan (Michelle) Hosek; and his great-grandchildren, AJ and Elizabeth DeSomer, Cameron Tennessen, Caitlyn, Mackenna, and Magdalina Farrell, Riley, Amya, and Kellen Pluess, Frankie and Cooper Draffkorn and Lexi Hosek.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
