Berneice A. McGuire, 103, of East Troy found peace surrounded by her family on Easter Sunday.
Berneice was born in Wisconsin to William and Alwine Dettmering. She met her husband William “Mickey” McGuire in Milwaukee. They were married and they raised their family in East Troy on Lake Beulah. Berneice was the secretary at East Troy High School for 23 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the secretary there for many years also. She enjoyed bowling in her free time.
Berneice is survived by her son William ”Mick”; Mick’s significant other and Berneice’s caregiver Shari Johnson; her grandchildren Hailee (Michael) Genovese, Sara (Sal) Becerra, and Joseph (Bekah) Scherer; five great grandchildren, Eleanor, Luca, Jayden, Carter, and Cierra; her brother William (Marjorie) Dettmering; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and eight siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. with a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 2665 North St., East Troy.
