Richard “Dick” J. Golly, 81, of Elkhorn, died at home on Sunday March 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born in Chicago, on Aug. 15, 1944; son of the late Ollie and Alice (Finn) Golly.

Dick was united in marriage to Carol L. Bransky at St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish in Elkhorn on April 24, 1965. Dick and Carol raised their family together in Elkhorn and shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories. Dick had a love for the outdoors; fishing on Lake Michigan, camping, and hunting. When at home, he could be found tending to his garden. In his earlier years, he was a Cub Scout leader, served on the Elkhorn Rescue Squad for 25 years, and served as the President of Lakeland Industrial Safety Counsel. Dick enjoyed traveling with Carol. They had a time-share in Florida for some time and enjoyed taking cruises as well. One of Dick’s fondest memories was a ride that he took with his son on the Battleship Missouri from Hawaii to Long Beach, California, to be surprised by the rest of his family awaiting their arrival in Long Beach.

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Carol; children, Christine (Robert) Caliendo and Mark (Liz) Golly; grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Caliendo, Alyssa (Grant Piske) Caliendo, Katelyn (Tommy) Taylor, Bailey Golly and John Golly; great grandchild, Sadie Taylor; and sisters, Jan Anderson, and Joan Trueblood. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Florence Campbell; and brothers-in-law, Russ Campbell, Trevor Anderson, and Jack Trueblood.

The date and time for a Memorial Mass will be announced for Dick at a later time.
