Margaret Elaine Oler, 77, of Burlington, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, surrounded by family. A graveside service will be held in Lyons Quaker Cemetery in Lyons at a later date.
Margaret was born May 23, 1948, in Sweetwater, Texas, to S.T. and Mary (Gibson) Jones. She grew up in Roscoe, Texas, where she attended school. At the age of 19 she moved to Abilene, Texas, where she met and married the love of her life Oliver C. Oler on May 24, 1967. They moved to North Dakota in 1973 and resided in Beulah. While in Beulah, Margaret was very active at Immanuel Baptist Church singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school.
In 1989 they moved to Wisconsin. They lived in Appleton and Stevens Point before settling in Burlington. While in Burlington she had many close friends and was very active at Calvary Community Church. In 2020 she moved to Bismarck, North Dakota to be close to family.
Margaret is survived by her children, Keven (Amy) of Bismarck, North Dakota, Celest of Beloit, and Torry (Angel Nordling) of Elgin, North Dakota; grandchildren, Kelsey, Logan, Torran, Xandria, Autumn, MacKenzie, and Marlie; her brother-in-law Clayton (Joanie) Oler of Parkers Prairie, Minnesota; sister-in-law Phyllis Rosendahl of Sioux City, Iowa and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver; parents, S.T. and Mary P. (Gibson) Jones; sisters Neva Joyce (John C.) Brasuell and Melba (Ranny) Wheeler; in-laws, Maurice and Luella Oler; brothers-in-law, Bud (Betty) Oler and Ward Rosendahl; sister-in-law Lucy (Norman) Cork and nephew, Lamar C. Oler.
The family would like to thank the Baptist Home and Hospice for the exceptional care of Margaret.
