Joy A. Davis went home to the Lord on Dec. 5, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Waukesha on Feb. 28, 1933 to Wayne H. and Ethel M. Nicks and grew up in Wales.
Joy was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Edgar R. Davis. She was a loving mother to Jill Breber, Jacalyn Davis, and Jody (Tim) Bruce; cherished grandmother to Jeremy (Dawn) Koutsky, Jamie Koutsky, and Timothy Bruce Jr.; and fond great-grandmother to Jacobey, Jared, Madeline, Kyler, Teagan, and Jaxon Koutsky. She is further missed by her sisters, Rebecca Smale and Judith Smith, her brother Dennis (Susan) Nicks, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Joy enjoyed cooking and baking and mastered her craft from her mother and grandmother. Feeding everyone was her language of love. She was a longtime member of Palmyra United Methodist Church.
Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar; her parents, Wayne and Ethel Nicks; her grandmother, Maude Beider; her loving sister, Hazel M. Hoffman; and sisters and brothers-in-law.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at Palmyra United Methodist Church, 122 N. Fifth Street, Palmyra. Visitation will be at 11 a.m., followed by the service at Noon.
Private burial will take place at a later date at Siloam Cemetery.
Memorials given to the family will be distributed to ProHealth Care Home Hospice and Palmyra United Methodist Church.
