Howard William Bryant, 86, of Ringwood, Illinois and formerly of Wisconsin, passed away Jan. 27, 2026.

Howard was the beloved husband of the late Carol Bryant, loving partner of Mary Ellen Shine for 18 years; loving father to Dusty (Ruthi) Bryant, Alan (Kim) Bryant, Kelly Bryant, David (Jen) Bryant, Rebecca (Mohit) Bhargava, and the late Kathy Bryant; grandfather to Rachel (Matt), Collin, Jonathan, Madison (Brett), Ripley (Phillip), Fiona, Scarlett, Reya, and Nora; great-grandfather to Gabriel, Sebastian and Tennyson; Dear brother to William “Bill” (Barb) Bryant; and cousin, uncle, and friend to many.      Howard was most content when he was outdoors, immersed in nature. An avid photographer, he loved capturing the world through his lens. He had a great appreciation for a good dad joke and was fluent in sarcasm. Howard found joy in yard work and could often be found happily puttering around his yard. He also enjoyed working through crossword puzzles. He will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held Feb. 6 at Colonial Funeral Home in McHenry Illinois, from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, or Cure Alzheimer’s Foundation.
