It is with heavy hearts that we share that Constance “Connie” Lancour passed away peacefully on Feb. 1, 2026, at the age of 86, surrounded by family.
She was born on Nov. 7, 1939, in Chicago, the only child of Harry and Dorothy Sorensen. She grew up in Eagle Lake Manor and graduated from Burlington High School, Class of 1957.
Connie married the love of her life, Bernard “Bernie” Lancour, on Oct. 15, 1960. They were a beautiful example of lifelong love and partnership. Together, they had four children who they raised in the home they built in Burlington. Connie always instilled the importance of family and was immensely proud of her children.
She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, attending performances, or celebrating life’s milestones, Grandma and Grandpa were always present. She never missed a chance to support and encourage her family.
Connie was a serial hobbyist, from painting to gardening to macrame to fishing to baking, she did it all at one point or another. She also had a passion for antiques and enjoyed attending auctions.
Her home was a place of warmth, tradition, and love, often filled with the scent of freshly baked bread. The candy jar was always full, the cookie cupboard never empty, and everyone felt welcome. Family gatherings were never complete without her famous Chex Mix and puppy chow.
“I love you a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and a hug around your neck.”
Connie is survived by her adoring husband Bernie Lancour; her children, Scott (Deb) Lancour, Kathy Wacker, Carl (Carla) Lancour, and Deb (Lance) Dahl; ten grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Dorothy Sorensen, and son-in-law Kenneth “Pottsy” Wacker.
Though she will be deeply missed, her love and spirit live on.
Services for Connie will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at Integrity Celebration Center, 2789 Browns Lake Dr., Burlington, with visitation from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service at 5:50 p.m. A private burial will be held to lay Connie to rest.
