Alan F. Turner, 84, of Sullivan, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026 at his home.

Al was born on Dec. 20, 1941, in Milwaukee, the son of George and Ada (Ewins) Turner. He grew up in the Palmyra area and graduated from Palmyra High School. Al worked as a foreman for Kincaid Farms for the majority of his working career, retiring in 2019. He enjoyed his work and was especially skilled with his hands. He had the ability to fix or build just about anything and had a passion for innovating and making things more efficient.

On March 26, 1982, Alan was united in marriage to Irene Cardenas. The two would go on to enjoy 41 years of marriage until Irene’s passing in 2023. Al’s family was the most important thing in his life. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time and making memories with his loved ones. For leisure, Al enjoyed telling stories, traveling with his family – especially family trips to Mexico and St. Germain. He also enjoyed tinkering around his home, and being in the company of his many cats and dogs. He will be sincerely missed but forever remembered by those he leaves behind.

Al is survived by his children, Esteban (Dawn) Hernandez, Barbara (Steven) Koeckritz, Juanita (Michael) Howard, Victoria (Justin Lohr) Turner, and Alexandra Turner (Greg Griffin); his grandchildren, Avalon (Zach) Walton, LQ McDonald IV, and Norah Lohr; his brother, Pete (Nancy) Turner of Milwaukee; and by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his dear wife, Irene Turner.

A Celebration of Al’s life will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Gibson Family Funeral Home, 499 Elkhorn Road, Eagle. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
