Thomas J. “Tom” Kojis, 72, of Waterford, passed away peacefully on Jan. 21, 2026, in his hometown, leaving behind a legacy of passion, community involvement, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Born on Feb. 5, 1953, in Waterford, Tom was the cherished husband of the late Kathy Stone, the beloved son of the late Joseph and Ione (nee Mealy) Kojis, and a dear brother to Rich and John (Barb) Kojis. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Tom’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering determination and zest for living. He was a proud alumnus of the Gaenslen School of Milwaukee, where he attended from kindergarten through graduation. His early education laid the foundation for a life filled with ambition and achievement.

As a very proud owner of Kojis Produce Farm in Burlington, Tom was recognized not just for his agricultural acumen but also for his entrepreneurial endeavors. His career began with various business ventures at a young age, showcasing his natural aptitude for leadership and innovation. Tom’s voice became a beacon for the disabled community, advocating for their rights and inclusion in society. His passion for communication and community service led him to run the Waterford Billboard Newspaper, through which he kept the residents of his beloved town connected and informed.

Eventually, Tom found his true calling in the earth’s bounty, dedicating himself to farming. His hands-on approach and dedication to the land were evident in the thriving produce that came from Kojis Produce Farm. Tom’s passion for his work was contagious, and he became a respected figure in the agricultural community.

Tom’s life was a testament to the power of passion and perseverance. His ability to touch the lives of others, whether through his business ventures, his advocacy work, or simply through his infectious enthusiasm for life, was unparalleled. His absence will leave a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his influence will continue to be felt for many years to come.

As we bid farewell to Tom, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest. A visitation will take place on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral at Noon at Schuette Daniels Funeral Home, 625 S. Browns Lake Dr., Burlington. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in Waterford.
