Loretta Louise Olsen passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 16, 2025, at the age of 68, due to a tragic car accident. Born on Aug. 29, 1957, in Chicago, Loretta spent her life embodying love, creativity, and kindness, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Loretta was the cherished daughter of Margaret and Raymond Dundore. She grew up in Wisconsin, where her love for animals and nature blossomed early on. After completing her education, she pursued a fulfilling career as a floral designer in Burlington, where her creativity flourished. Her talent not only beautified events but also brought joy to countless families and friends.

In October 2004, Loretta married her soulmate Gary Olsen. Their love was a testament to the beauty of partnership, built on mutual respect, admiration, and shared dreams. Together, they created a warm and loving home filled with laughter and joy. They enjoyed frequently hosting family and friends and were always welcoming to everyone and anyone.

Loretta was a proud mother to her son, Ryan (Erin) Hintz, and daughter, Heather (Marc) Bruinsma. She also embraced her role as a stepmother to Michael (Amanda) Olsen and Jenni (Renee) Feuillerat-Bundick. Her family was the center of her universe, and she deeply loved her role as a grandmother to 11 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to one great-grandchild. Loretta’s nurturing spirit and genuine love for her family was evident in everything she did.

In addition to her family life, Loretta was passionate about many hobbies and interests. She loved to travel, especially embarking on cruises that filled her heart with adventure and new experiences. Her green thumb shone brightly as she tended to her garden and pond, where she raised and released monarch butterflies, a symbol of transformation and hope. Music brought her joy; whether it was a live concert or listening to songs on the radio. A fierce advocate for animals, she dedicated herself to various causes, including her work with Albert’s Dog Lounge, where she championed the welfare of furry companions.

Loretta’s character was defined by her caring, creative, and thoughtful nature. She was genuine and kind-hearted, always putting others before herself. Her laughter was infectious, and her spirit was a calming presence to those around her. Loretta had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued and loved, leaving a mark on the hearts of all who crossed her path.
