Lewis M. Oder, 93, of Delavan, passed away at home on Monday, Dec 22, 2025.
Lew was born in Ohio and has carried the love of this state and his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes throughout his life. An avid golfer, Lew grew up on golf courses starting as a caddy in his early teens. His knowledge of golf is what brought him to Wisconsin, where he worked for Ajay Industries. Being the consummate storyteller, he often told stories of golfing and collaborating with golf greats Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicholas.
After working at Ajay, Lew bought the Side Show Bar in Delavan, which he ran for 40 years. People loved coming to hear him play his Stumpf Fiddle, entertaining people throughout Wisconsin.
Lewis was a veteran, serving in the Korean War.
Lew is survived by his daughter LuAnn (nee Oder) Freifeld, son Eric Oder, grandsons Danny and David, and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Kay, mother Bernice, and brother Richard.
Many thanks to Mercyhealth Hospice of Wisconsin in Janesville. Special thanks to Nurses Lisa, Melisa and Cassandra, all who are angels among us.
There will be a gathering to celebrate Lew’s life at a later date.
