Donald G. Hummel, 93, of Delavan, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026 at Holton Manor in Elkhorn.          Donald was born on Sept. 8, 1932 in Elkhorn to Raymond and Florence (Shanahan) Hummel. He was united in marriage to Jean Paddock on Aug. 25, 1956 at Bethel Church in Elkhorn.

Donald was owner of a farm in Delavan for many years and also graduated from the Farm and Industry Short Course at UW-Madison. He also worked at Libbys/Larsen Company for many years. Donald was on the Town of Delavan Park and Planning Commission for over 40 years. He was part of the Delavan Red Devils and the Consumer Co-op of Walworth County.

Donald enjoyed snowmobiling, deer hunting, traveling, square dancing, celebrating his Irish heritage, the Packers, and having coffee with his friends. He was a longtime member of Delavan United Methodist Church.

Donald is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter, Dianne (Brad) Bruggenthies of Monroe; son, Jon (Annette King-Hummel) Hummel of Delavan; four grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin, Maxwell, and Gus; and great grandson, Malachi.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; and three sisters, Dorothy Tollkuhn, Gladys Tucker, and Marion Gates.

Visitation and funeral services took place on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026 at Delavan United Methodist Church. Burial took place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan.
