Donald A. Finster, 91, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, at Arbor View.

Born in Burlington on June 24, 1934, he was the son of Frederick and Myrtle (nee Lois) Finster. On Nov. 10, 1956, in Burlington, he was united in marriage to Eva Mae (nee Payton) Finster at St. Charles Church.

Donald worked at Otter Sale and Service Inc, as “The Parts Man”. He was a member of St. Charles Church.

Donald enjoyed many hobbies, such as woodworking, craftmaking, fishing, gardening, puzzles, and reading.

Donald is survived by his wife, Eva; children, Carol Ullrich and Donald (Diane) Finster; son-in-law, David Luke; grandchildren, Holly May, Grant (Ashley) May, Trisha (Jason) Fay, Tim (Lorena) Luke, Heather Finster and Roy (Amber) Finster; great-grandchildren, Colin (Lauren) Szymankiewicz, Savanah Giebel, Jenna Fay, Jaxson Fay, Joey Fay, Jacob Luke, Hailey Luke, Kailyn Luke, Britteney Bloom, and Lukas Finster; great-great grandchild, Gage Finster; and sisters, Dianne Robers and Rita Robers. He was preceded in death by his parents Frederick Finster and Myrtle (Marion) Robers; his daughter, Linda Luke; son-in-law, Ronald Ullrich; siblings, Richard (Shirley) Finster, and Dennis Robers; and niece, Julie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 at 1 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 from 10 a.m. until Noon.
