William R. “Bill” Lancour, of Rochester, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, while working on the family farm.
Bill was born in Burlington on June 14, 1958, the son of Raymond and Patricia (Handschu) Lancour. A lifelong resident of the Burlington area, he graduated from Burlington High School. On Oct. 1, 1983, he married the love of his life, Therese Clark. The couple made their home in Lyons for six years before settling in Rochester.
Bill began his career at Welder’s Supply in Burlington and later became a sales representative for Machinery and Welder Corp. in West Allis, where he proudly celebrated 38 years with the company. He was a longtime member of the American Welding Society. Bill found joy in riding his motorcycle along Wisconsin’s winding backroads with friends, and he was a devoted coach for the Demons Shooting Team during the years his daughter competed. He also cherished the time he spent working alongside his brother on the family farm.
Bill is survived by his wife, Therese; his daughter, Kaylee (Mackain) Timler; and his beloved grandson, Wren Timler. He is further survived by his siblings, Bob Lancour, Greg Lancour, and Cathy (Steve) Johnson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held in June 2026 on the family farm.
