Thomas E. Karls, of Richmond, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Dec. 8, 2025. He was born on Sept. 1, 1942, in Waukegan, Illinois, and remained a proud, lifelong resident of Richmond.
Tom had a deep appreciation for all things mechanical and outdoors. He loved auto racing and could often be found tinkering with automotive repairs. An avid fisherman and hunter for much of his life, he later discovered a new passion for golf, which brought him great enjoyment in recent years.
Above all, Tom cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lolly Karls; his children, Dawn (Jim) Frederick, Heather (Doug) Miller, Wendy (Jeff) Wolf, and Gregg (Jessica) Boas; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20, from Noon to 3 p.m. at Birchwood Grill, 7515 125th Avenue, Bristol, on the corner of 125th Avenue and Highway 50.
