Kirk Michael Yunker, 59, of Twin Lakes and Clearwater, Florida, passed away peacefully with family and friends at his side on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, after a long battle with chronic health issues.

Kirk was born on Sept. 21, 1966, in Chicago. His family moved to Twin Lakes shortly after that. He graduated from Wilmot High School in 1985. He attended community college in Florida and Robert Morris College in Chicago studying business and healthcare related courses.    After his father’s passing in 2009, he relocated to Clearwater to assist and care for his mother while living in their Florida home. He resided there with his four-legged family and friends up until his recent death.

Kirk is survived by his mother, Mary Helen Yunker of Twin Lakes; his five brothers, Mark, Kent (Janis), Kelly (Joan), Brian (Wendy Yanke), and Adam (Kari); and his six sisters, Gail Rohde, Cathy Allchin, Teri (Rich) Fistler, Lisa Danhof (Rod Uhl), Beth (Tim) Nolan and Mari (Ken) Meyer. He is also survived by his four constant companions, Cooper, Ajax, Whiskey and Indigo, his beloved dogs that he rescued from the Humane Society, who provided him with much joy, exercise and support over the years. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, having grown up with 12 siblings.

Kirk was preceded in death by his father, Warren Yunker and his brother, Eric Yunker.

A funeral service will be held on Nov. 8, 2025, at St. John’s Church in Twin Lakes. Viewing and condolences will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m.
