James “Jim” Thomas Forsyth, 82, of Racine, passed away on Oct. 30, 2025.
Jim was born in Darien on March 21, 1943, to John and Lois (nee Krabbe) Forsyth. He lived most of his life in Kenosha and Racine. He graduated from Bigfoot High School and attended UW Whitewater. He worked as an R&D Engineer and retired from Abbott Laboratories in the 1990s.
Jim was a man of few words but always the one everyone called when something needed fixing. His gruff demeanor hid a loyal, caring heart, and his dry sense of humor showed up exactly when you needed it most. If Jim couldn’t fix something, it was beyond broken. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, competitive target shooting, and watching the Packers. He was happiest outdoors with his loyal dog, Otis.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sandra (nee Mohr); his children, Candace (Jeff) Isetts-Williams, Steven Forsyth, Cassandra Isetts, Cynthia Isetts, and Catherine (Travis) Decker; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Conor Isetts.
According to Jim’s wishes, no funeral or memorial services will be held.
