Shirley Marie Fletcher, 103, of Beaver Dam, joined her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025 at Harbour Village Assisted Living in Greendale.
Shirley was born in Medford, on Aug. 6, 1922 to Henry and Lillian (nee Rueth) Hibbard. She grew up and graduated from high school in Waukesha. On Sept. 16, 1943, she was united in marriage to William J. Fletcher. Following marriage, they lived in Burlington, Vermont, then Hartford and finally ending up in Beaver Dam. After her children were raised, she worked as a lab assistant for Green Giant and then an office clerk for The Wisconsin Cheeseman. Shirley was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish in Beaver Dam. She was an avid bridge player, golfer and excellent seamstress. She was a great baker and was known for her famous special desserts. More than anything Shirley cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her son Bob (Elaine) Fletcher; daughter Barbara (Dave) Carlson; grandchildren, Bobby (Christina) Fletcher, John (Sara) Fletcher, Elizabeth (Brandon) Buchmann and Amanda Carlson; and great grandchildren, Brenden, Nate, Chase, Mackenzie, Lucy, Sammi, Brayden and Evan. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son William Jr.; brothers Glen Hibbard and Sid Hibbard; and sisters, Bernice Regenfuss, Lucille Frank and Helen Goerke.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be given in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish in Beaver Dam on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends can visit with the family at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. until time of service.
