Sally P. Nelson, 87, of East Troy, passed away Sunday, Sept 14, 2025 at East Troy Manor.

Born in Highland on Aug. 1, 1938, she was the daughter of James and Beatrice (nee Wahl) Hasburgh. Her early life was spent in Highland, where she earned her teaching degree from UW Platteville. On June 25, 1974 in Madison, she was united in marriage to LeRoy “Curly” Nelson. They resided in Waterford until retirement. They returned to Wisconsin shortly before Curley preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2012.

Sally worked as a teacher for the Dodgeville School District and was a member of Community Church of Waterford. She loved reading and watching TV shows. She was strong in her faith and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Sally is survived by her children, Norman (Risa) Nelson, Tom (Nancy) Nelson, Ken (Sue) Nelson, Steve (Lisa) Nelson, Kathy (Clayton) Kruse and Charlotte (Guy Clementi) Rice; several grandchildren; sister, Kate Stewart; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Margaret Hasburgh; brother Robert Hasburgh; and brother-in-law Seldon Stewart.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at East Troy Manor, Pine Brook Pointe and Home Helpers in-home caregivers.

Services for Sally will be held Friday, Sept. 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Community Church in Waterford. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 9 until 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place following the service at Oakwood Cemetery.
