Karen F. Hanson, 68, of Elkhorn, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025. She was born on Nov. 9, 1956, the daughter of the late Wendell and Ellen (Moore) Anderson.

Karen was united in marriage to her husband, Kenneth Hanson, on June 3, 1978, in Rice Lake. Together they built a beautiful life and family. They had the love, friendship and marriage that will last an eternity. During her life, she dedicated her time to being an amazing mother, wife and teacher. She was a third-grade teacher at the Williams Bay Elementary School. She was known to be not just a teacher, but as someone who was incredibly respected and admired by her students and colleagues. In her free time, she enjoyed being outside in the sunshine, keeping busy being a handywoman and seeing her friends. She enjoyed taking care of her family’s horses growing up, gardening, road trips, mowing the lawn, and watching concerts at the Belfry music theatre and the Phoenix Park Bandshell. The things that she did and treasured the most were watching her grandson Harlow grow up, going on motorcycle rides and trips with her husband and spending time with her kids. The most important thing to her was her family. She was a devoted mother, wife and grandmother who loved to be involved and be there for all of them. She was deeply empathetic, kindhearted, strong, wise, and an incredible support for everyone in her life. She will be deeply missed.

Karen is survived by her children, Benjamin, Jacqueline and Kimberly; grandchild Harlow; additional children, Laura and Ross; and sisters and brothers, Rick, Diane, Kathy, Bobby, Cindy, and Ricky.

Karen is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hanson, and parents, Wendell and Ellen Anderson.
