Elizabeth “Betty” Gean Brose, 86, of Elkhorn, passed away peacefully on Sept. 10, 2025, surrounded by her three daughters, and was reunited with her beloved husband, Jack.
Born Oct. 28, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Viola (Babe) Smith and Oscar (Bud) Bennett, Betty grew up in St. Louis and married John “Jack” Brose in 1958. They raised three daughters in Northbrook, Illinois, later retiring to Lauderdale Lakes, their “happy place.”
Betty shared her love of life through dance, ice-skating, travel, and her gift for hospitality. Her greatest joy was her family, whom she cherished deeply.
Betty is survived by daughters Barbara (Mike) Maxwell, Patti (Mark Ziskind) Brose, and Dianna (Dan) Burke; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and her beloved lab, Koda.
A celebration of life will be held on Oct. 25, 2025 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Lauderdale Lakes Country Club, N7498 Country Club Dr., Elkhorn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Froedtert/MCW Breast Cancer Research or Adaptive Mobility Providers.
