Aaron Pum passed away on Sept. 24, 2025, at the age of 52 from a difficult, but short, fight against rectal cancer.
Born in Milwaukee on July 2, 1973, Aaron was the son of Marilyn and James Pum. After graduating from Central High School, Aaron went on to become an airline pilot, which was a job he adored. During this time, he met the love of his life, Mary Rueter, and they were married for 28 years.
To the people close to Aaron, he will forever be remembered by all of the things he loved to do. He loved sports and was often found spending time playing baseball or basketball on the street with his kids. This included his golfing, which he was fully convinced he could have gone professional in. He enjoyed the adventure and thrill of life, which may have involved him going a little too fast as a “Chicago” driver (leading to the several speeding tickets his family often teased him of). Being a pilot, he traveled often and went on numerous trips to scuba dive, snowboard, or visit new cities. Most of all, in his last years he enjoyed living on Brown’s Lake and going for a cruise on his speedboat.
Aaron is survived by his wife, Mary; children, John, Brandon, and Kelly; siblings, Daniel Pum and Victoria Cybela; parents, Marilyn and James Pum; and many other friends and family.
There will be no funeral services per his request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support the educational endeavors of Aaron’s children.
