Edward Lee Sanders, of Lake Ivanhoe, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025 at his home.
Edward was born on March 8, 1956 to Dorthy Flenoy and Harvey Sanders, Jr. in Chicago. He attended Paul Cornell and Henry O’ Tanner Elementary Schools in Chicago and graduated from Badger High School in Lake Geneva. He retired from Claude S. Gordon in Richmond, Illinois. Edward enjoyed cooking – grilling was his specialty, gardening, fishing and hunting. He was a passionate Bears and Cubs fan. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. He met his wife, Alice (nee Crowe) Sanders when she came to visit her sister from Kentucky. They got married in 1989 and were married for 36 years.
Edward leaves to cherish his memory with daughters, Diane Ashley and Kissa Sanders; three grandchildren Anthony D. Ashley, Tatyonna Sanders and Trevon Andrew; sister Delores J. Sanders; brother Bennie (Sharon) Sanders and many nieces, nephews, cousins and several very special family friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Delbert, Barney, and Harvey Jr.; and wife, Alice Sanders.
Visitation will take place on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lazarczyk Family Funeral Home, 515 Center Street, Lake Geneva, with funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Bloomfield Cemetery.
